Packing up life for a year takes some preparation and then, necessitates some farewell festivities – so, three leaving parties.
A goodbye to our hometown Lewes, involved new friends and a few old, took place at Abyss Brewery for some unexpected piano karaoke – where adamant avoidance became willing wailing. Then off to The Royal Oak for some disco dancing and then nightcaps and continued toe taps at Zu Cafe. A wonderful silly night – we will miss our little community in Lewes.
A more sophisticated London gathering shared with birthday girl Ella and our oldest friends ended up with general marauding of soho streets and then some….

Then a final feast with The Molls with the last remaining item in our freezer as the centrepiece – a whole piglet, delicious, delicious, delicious ~ thank you Oli Murray for the piggy gift.
That’s it, house rented, freezer run down, goodbyes said – we’re off the next day.

A ferry in our trusty and newly converted steed, Vanny, took us from Newhaven to Dieppe and set us on our way….

With a night stopover along the way we arrive at Bessas in the Ardeche to my Dad and Cati’s for a day and night. It was here we parted with Vanny, to be reunited later down our path (thanks Dad for agreeing to our crazy plan).

So now, us with backpacks and a flight to Istanbul.
Turkey is our first country of exploration.
